Land Rover IMC Software Update will allow you to get Apple Carplay and Android Auto on your InControl Touch Pro system. The system user interface will change to a new UI that is in 2019+ vehicles. You will get a new Software Update tab in settings that can be used to update the system in the future yourself through SOTA (software over the air) technology.

This is a genuine software update that many dealers refuse to carry out on JLR vehicles, often warning customers about the potential risk of “bricking” the head unit. It’s important to understand that this risk is real — as with any firmware update, there is always a possibility that the unit may become unresponsive or permanently damaged during the process.

At MAK Coding, we follow expert procedures and use the correct tools to minimise this risk. However, by choosing to proceed, you acknowledge and accept that we cannot be held liable for any issues that may arise, including a bricked unit.

In the unlikely event that your unit becomes bricked, we do offer a repair service at an additional cost to get your system up and running again.

With the update, you will get the ability to use Apple Carplay and Android Auto directly on the screen. Please check the images to confirm if your USB port is compatible or not. Your USB ports must have HDMI or SIM slot for Carplay/Android Auto to work. JLR only have wired connection to Carplay/Android Auto.
