VW MIB2 Region Change Conversion – Europe MHI2
We can perform a VW MIB2 Region Change on your headunit to enable European firmware, maps, and other features on your car after you have imported it from another region of the world. Example: you buy a car from Japan and import it to the UK; it will have Japanese maps, radio frequencies, and language settings.
Importing a car from another region of the world will require you to perform a complete region conversion on the head unit to ensure all features work as they should in your region. The correct navigation data needs to be installed, along with the languages the area supports.
Our technicians are highly trained, and we follow strict protocols when performing updates to minimise any potential issues. Before and after the update, we conduct thorough quality checks to catch any problems and ensure your system functions as intended.

How can this be done on your car?
Remotely – We connect via TeamViewer and perform the region change for you.
- Windows 10/11 Laptop
- AX88772B USB Ethernet Adapter – Has to be this specific adapter with this chipset, as others won’t work with the VW headunit
- 2 x 64GB SD Card
- Ethernet cable
- 2nd USB to Ethernet USB adapter – Only needed if your laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port. This can be any USB-to-ethernet adapter

Requirements / Compatibility
- Be a 2015+ VW model (e.g. Golf MK7, Passat, Polo, Tiguan, etc.)
- Have the MIB2 head unit (not MIB1)
- Software versions starting with “MHI2…” (Check by pressing Setup > Version Info)
To check software version:
- Press and Hold Menu button for 5 seconds
- Go to Software version/update
- Send a picture of this screen
